The MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) were held in New York, with well-known figures in the music industry occupying the red carpet.
Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga all received awards.
Grande won this year’s video in the days to come, while Carpenter won awards for Best Pop, Best Album and Best Visual Effects, saying she was happy to bring music to light in a world and therefore “full of criticism and negativity.”
Gaga won four trophys, including Artist of the Year and thanked her fans, known as the “Little Monster”.
“Thank you for supporting my little monster,” Gaga said.
