First on Fox: A first House Republican and veteran is bidding for Senate seats for Senate Tom Tillis after Republican lawmakers announced he would not run for reelection.

Rep. Pat Harrigan, RN.C., a former Army Special Forces official, was deployed to Afghanistan and was elected to represent North Carolina’s tenth congressional district in November 2024.

This comes after President Donald Trump promised to vote on key procedural barriers to push the Commander-in-Chief’s “Big and Beautiful Bill” decision to “No”.
