The move will mark the end of Nadler’s 34-year-old Congress, and he has been a liberal voice on a range of issues.
“Watching Biden’s things really illustrate the need for change in the past generations of the party, I think I want to respect that,” Nadler told the New York Times.

It was obvious when Nadler, 78, was forced to abandon the leadership of the House Judiciary Committee at the beginning of the semester, and it was clear that a young, more dynamic colleague would beat him.
Nadler has been a voice critic for President Donald Trump, warning fellow Democratic Party Trump’s leadership style. The two have gone back to the 1980s, Manhattan Development Project.
“I’m not saying we should change the whole party,” he said. “But I think some of the changes are very helpful, especially when we face the challenges of Trump and his early fascism.”

He eventually successfully directed the articles of impeachment through the committee in 2019.
Nadler did not discuss who could inherit him, and he said multiple candidates could run to replace him.
But a person familiar with his ideas told The Times that Nadler plans to run for Micah Lasher, a part of the Upper West Side, in the New York State Legislature.

Nadler said in a conversation with The Times that he was Democrats‘Get back control of the house next year.
“Then you can cut the domination of horror in half,” he said.
