According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, H-1B visas in fiscal 2026 have reached a legal petition limit of 65,000, with an additional 20,000 visa limit of 20,000. According to the agency’s website, visas are primarily targeted at skilled workers, including “architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, medicine and health, education, business majors, accounting, law, theology and the arts”.

“The department’s ongoing review includes all over 55 million foreigners currently with valid visas,” a State Department spokesman told Fox News’s digital figures last week.

If the visa has “overdue, criminal activity, threat to public safety, engage in any form of terrorist activity or provide support to terrorist organizations”, it may be lowered by the department.
