Pentagon Standing firmly behind the Secretary of Defense of personnel and preparer Anthony Tata, who faces legal disputes related to self-proclaimed astrologers in Florida.

Sean Parnell, Pentagon chief spokesman, told Fox News that Tata continues to be confident Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

“Tata’s Secretary-General has complete and complete confidence, Hegseth takes his role and will continue to be supported by him,” Parnell said. “Mr. Tata has done a great job in the priorities of the department and this administration. We strongly support him.”

Doe and Tripp met on the dating app Bumble in April 2024 while Doe was writing a book and consulting “Astrological Faith and Related Questions.”

Their relationship developed into “accidental sexual relationships and professional relationships about the astrological business.” Doe also invested in Tripp’s company Starheal LLC in exchange for a 5% stake.

Court records show that after alleged harassment escalated, a temporary restraining order was approved on August 7, 2025. A subpoena order issued later that month she responded to the charges within 20 days.

Tata’s career span as the case unfolds in Florida Decades of military and public services. He is a retired Army Brigadier General and novelist, working in uniform for 28 years, including serving in Afghanistan. After retirement, he was transferred to civilian leadership positions, including the education field and North Carolina’s transportation secretary.

Tata is a graduate of West Point and is the recipient of the Army’s Outstanding Service Medal, Defense Advanced Service Medal, Merit Corps, Battle Action Badge, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal and Rangers tab.
