Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk’s Hell of the Summer is the perfect movie to watch on TV. If that’s a backhand compliment, go for it. I still recommend comedy movies, even under certain conditions. Some movies are like this.
Jason Hochberg (Fred Hechinger) Too old for this S*** – i.e., work as an annoying teenager counselor at the summer camp. If that’s not bad enough, someone is killing all the other counselors. No, no Friday, 13thJason Vorhees – Someone wore a cheap devil mask and used an axe and knife tied with peanut butter (yes, really) to send his or her victim. Jason’s summer hell will get worse and then get better, and if he doesn’t stop the killer, he may not see another season at all.
The Hell of Summer It is derived, not really scary, only intermittently interesting. Still, it’s fun because most of the actors seem to be exploding. Hechinger is a highlight. In movies and shows Thema and White lotushe showed a specific Z lazy charm, where he used to fully effect. The Hell of Summer Good enough watch that won’t make you crave a sequel.
