A US Airlines flight returned to Harry Reed International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada shortly after taking off shortly after reporting from the left engine.
The airline said the maintenance team found no evidence of an engine fire, but the plane had been deactivated.
No injuries were reported and the Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the incident.
