The Justice Department will not comment if DEM senator faces charges of Norm incident

It is not clear whether D-Calif’s Senator Alex Padilla will face federal Justice charges after a press conference held by Kristi Noem in Los Angeles on June 12 in Los Angeles.

A Justice Department spokesman told Fox News in an email Wednesday afternoon when asked whether the department plans to file charges against Democratic senators, “There is no comment here.”

“Senator Padilla chose the irreverent political theater and interrupted the live press conference without determining whether he or the security of the Senate, he paid tribute to Noem. [Secret Service] Thinking he was an attacker, the officer took appropriate action. ”

Padilla was kicked out of the room by the Secret Service and was briefly arrested after trying to ask the secretary a question.

He did not wear a safety pin when he was wearing a shirt marked “U.S. Senate” and identified himself by name.

“I was forced to come on the stage,” he said in a speech in the Senate. The officers would not answer why he was detained.

“I pray you will never have such a moment,” he added. On Tuesday, the Senate Democratic Caucus wrote to Norm about how law enforcement handles the situation.

Despite this incident, Padilla and Noem then ended up holding a meeting, and even though there was a strong disagreement between the two, Padilla’s office described it as “civil” and Noem was described as “kind”.

The senator told CNN the “international situation” that he was accompanied by the National Guard and the FBI to the room as he held a meeting in the same building where the press conference in Neum was held.
