Guaranteed a range of free programs and services during his campaign New York City Mayor, Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani, has pushed himself to become a top candidate, and even threatened the favored former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Mamdani’s campaign gained significant appeal in the New York City mayoral campaign. The Democratic primary was Tuesday, but the results tonight will not be expected because the city’s rankings’ ballot system complicates the voting and voting counting.

Mamdani, who is currently a New York State Councilor, has gained some recognition through the recognition of big names Senator Bernie Sandersi-vt. and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, dn.y. But he also made a reputation for his rights due to a range of free services he promised to New York residents.

Mamdani said he would fund his promised services by raising an additional $10 billion in city revenue by imposing taxes on companies and the wealthiest New Yorkers.

He also promised to create a New York City Department of Community Safety, which he said will deploy outreach workers at 100 subway stations, expand gun violence prevention programs, and increase funding for the Hate Violence Prevention Program 800%.

Another main purpose of the Mamdani platform is to “prevent the Long” New York City. His website states the president Donald Trump’s Immigration law enforcement, tariffs and other policies “tear the structure of New York City.” Mamdani’s website notes that he will strengthen the city’s sanctuary city institutions by kicking ICE out of all city facilities, ending any cooperation with institutions, and increasing legal support for immigration and blocking their personal data.

His website further states that, as mayor, Mamdani will make New York City an LGBTQ+ Sanctuary City and protect “reproductive rights.”

So, what is the bill for all this?

according to Politico’s report This week, Mamdani’s campaign estimated that providing universal child care would cost $500 million, his community safety department would spend up to $450 million in new spending, while the city’s food store cost another $60 million.

Where does the extra money come from? Mamdani’s website said he plans to raise the company’s tax rate to 11.5%, which he said would bring in an additional tax rate of $5 billion. He plans to further impose a flat 2% tax on people who earn more than $1 million a year, which he believes will increase the tax of $4 billion a year. He also said he would hire more tax auditors to end worthless contracts and crack down on the exquisite collection of “corrupt landlords” to raise $1 billion.

Mamdani’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
