South Carolina congresswoman and Republican gubernatorial candidate clashed with activists at a Greenville event to defend the Trump administration Immigration Policy Even if critics question whether they are constitutional.

“I had an event in Greenville and then an hour later in Spartanburg, two different towns in Upstate. We had some of the same protesters in both events,” Mace said.

During a city hall in Greenville on Monday, one attendee questioned how Mays ensured that people detained in immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) raids would receive “due process”, noting that it was a constitutional right.

“I mean, if I could put the National Guard around the corner of Home Depot at 6 a.m. every morning, I would do that,” Mess replied.

On another perspective, she told a key attendee: “Some people do hate our country” and “I think you might even hate our state”.

“These people need their own medicine. These people are not told to grow up ‘no’. They are told they could be a unicorn, men can get pregnant, all these crazy things. That’s not the reality. That’s not the world we live in,”

“These people need a certain reality… Some people have to be adults in the room, and some people have to tell these people the truth.”

However, she said she was willing or even eager to face critics at future town hall events again.

“I don’t mind. I wish we had more activities. We are sweeping the country,” Metz said.
