Steve Van YsseldykA Canadian man dug a pile of garbage at his local dump, romantic, romantic, and eventually succeeded in finding a wedding ring his wife accidentally discarded.
The story begins with Steve Van Ysseldyk and his 26-year-old wife Jeannine bringing back a bag of popcorn from the cinema and sprinkling it in their garden.
During the mess of collecting butter, Mrs. Van Ysseldyk’s ring seemed to fall into a popcorn bag and then threw it into a compost bin.
The couple only realized that the ring was missing after the compost was collected. So the next day, Mr. Van Ysseldyk went to the dump to start the difficult task of searching through 18 tons of organic waste.
“I’m very optimistic,” recalled Mr Van Yeslake, who told the BBC that he knew he had to find them because “wife’s ring, right?”
After examining the CCTV footage of the home to find out the exact moment when the diamond ring is lost, he determined that his search would take him to a missionary sanitary landfill in British Columbia.
“My wife is very suspicious. I told her that I will go to the garbage dump tomorrow morning to ask [to search the facility],” he said.
“She’s like ‘they won’t let you’, I was like, ‘You never know. You have to try’.”
He held a shovel and a pair of gloves and began searching for rotting grass cuts and food debris on August 15 to learn about the traces of popcorn in the cinema.
“It was a rainy day. It wasn’t very hot,” he said, explaining that occasional weather helped to “keep the smell.”
Steve Van YsseldykDenny Webster, who works on the website, helps search by using excavators to dig out waste.

He recalls how he looked at Mr. Van Iserdick’s hands and knees in the mud. “No one does that in their minds,” he said.
Miraculously, the first ring was discovered soon after Mr. Van Ysseldyk realized his family had been thrown away by compost.
Within an hour, two rings were found.
He called his wife, who was buying metal detectors to help with the hunt, and she immediately started crying.
Mr Van Ysseldyk told the BBC: “A lot of people are surprised by this story. I am equally surprised.
Mrs. Van Ysseldyk. At the same time, the incident made their marriage stronger.
She smiled and told CTV: “I know how much he loves me, and he’s willing to go through a rotten, smelly compost.”
