One of the major family hopes at the U.S. Open has suffered an early exit from the tournament after the loss of the first round of Madison Keys on Monday.

There are early signs in the world that he won the Australian Open in January, facing a tough match against Mexico’s Renata Zarazúa. The Americans won the first set, but only after a marathon 12-10. Zarazúa won the second set in another tiebreak (7-3) before finishing the game with a 7-5 final.

It was a wrong performance by Keys, who reached the U.S. Open final in 2017, and she sent 14 double-breaks, with only 55% of the first ball. She also hit the opponent’s five winners, but had 89 unmandatory mistakes.

Zarazúa is the 82nd world, with a moderate record on the tour and never surpasses the major in the second round.

There were other failures from American players on Monday. Since the opening era began in 1968, Coleman Wong became the first player in Hong Kong to win a men’s singles match in the Grand Slam, when he defeated Aleksander Kovacevic in a straight set. The 21-year-old ranked 173rd on the ATP Tour and made his grand slam debut. He finished second in Flushing Meadows, Australian Open, Wimbledon and French Open.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Korda was forced to quit in a match that trailed Britain’s Cameron Norrie 7-5, 6-4.
