Rapper Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty to inflicting police and arrest after he was detained last week while strolling the streets of Los Angeles in his underwear.
The rapper’s legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, who is facing three felony counts and is injured, a police officer and one felony resistant to arrest.
Police said the Grammy-winning artist charged them when they responded to a call about someone wandering in the street.
Authorities said he was taken to the hospital for overdose after the incident in the early hours of Thursday.
The 26-year-old artist was arraigned in Los Angeles court on Monday. CBS, the BBC’s U.S. news partner, said his bail was set at $75,000 (£55,456).
The BBC has contacted his representatives.
Unverified Videos and images TMZ published seems to show rappers wandering the streets before the police dispute occurs. They show the Old Town singer dancing on the Los Angeles streets of Studio City, wearing only white underwear and white cowboy boots.
The rapper is expected to release his much-anticipated second studio album Dreamboy later this year and recently teased new music on Instagram.
Lil Nas X became the first gay man to win the Country Music Association Award after winning the 2019 Old Town Road.
The song also won two Grammys and broke the longest first song of the Billboard Hot 100 after 17 weeks of top-up.
