El Salvador immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia will report to Baltimore’s ice rink office on Monday that his lawyer will be arrested and deported to Uganda.

The news limited an extraordinary, six-month court battle on Abrego Garcia’s legal status, which spans two continents, touches dozens of long court hearings and involves three federal judges in Tennessee and Maryland.

The Justice Department said Abrego Garcia, a member of the El Salvador gang MS-13, was allegedly arrested in Tennessee, allegedly driving a van full of illegal immigrants and was accused of assaulting her by his wife. His supporters portray him as a hard-working father who had been insulted by the Trump administration and pointed to the judge’s ruling that said the administration failed to provide enough evidence that he was a member of MS-13.

Now, Abrego Garcia is being deported to a third country because an immigration judge ruled that he could not be sent back to his homeland because he was in danger.

The latest development of Abrego Garcia’s legend comes days after the Justice Department proposed Thursday to send him to Costa Rica in exchange for a plea of guilty guilty on criminal charges of human smuggling, which he was still in custody in El Salvador detention earlier this year.

Abrego Garcia rejected the offer.

His attorneys used the rejected offer to strengthen their motion to dismiss the criminal case against him.Defensive and selective The Trump administration prosecuted.

They said the proposal for a plea deal suggests that the Trump administration has begun a pressure campaign against its clients, with several government agencies (the Ministry of Justice, ICE and DHS) “using their collective power to force” their clients to choose between pleas and Costa Rica, or not accepting offers, and what they designated “reports of Uganda.”

“Along with the proposal, the government sent a letter to Mr. Abrego’s lawyer confirming that he could live freely in that country, which would accept him as a refugee or grant him residency and promise not to refuse him to El Salvador,” his lawyer said in a court filing on Saturday.

They said that until he rejected the offer, the government “telled Mr. Abregor that he had to wait until Monday morning the first thing (as he had to report to Ice’s Baltimore field office) to accept a request for defense in exchange for deportation from Costa Rica, or the offer made would be on the table forever.”

The plans are detailed in several documents, including in official notices Friday in the Office of Chief Legal Counsel (OPLA) of ICE and attorneys filed on Saturday court filed on Saturday court filed on Saturday court filed on Saturday court.

Abrego Garcia entered the United States illegally as a teenager and lived in Maryland with his wife and children before being moved to El Salvador in March. His family filed a lawsuit claiming that he expelled from El Salvador in violation of a 2019 court order that prevented him from being sent back to his homeland.

After months of legal disputes, the Trump administration in May returned Abrego Garcia to the United States, where he was slapped by human smuggling charges. A survey originated from a 2022 transportation stop in Tennessee and began in April.

If ICE arrests Abrego Garcia immediately, their actions could violate a court order issued by Obama-appointed U.S. District Court Judge Paula Xinis, which attempts to prevent ICE from arresting Abrego Garcia immediately upon return.

Fox News reported Friday that DHS and ICE officials were frustrated by Abrego Grcia’s release and have been consulting with lawyers from the Justice Department and ICE to learn how to evacuate him from the United States.

Attorneys for the Justice Department strongly opposed Abrego Garcia’s release from custody and argued at an evidence hearing earlier this year that he posed a danger to the community and described him as a member of MS-13, a claim rejected by a judge in a ruling earlier this year.

Even so, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem blew up Abrego Garcia’s release from criminal custody on Friday and said in a statement that the Trump administration “don’t stop fighting until the El Salvador faces justice and leaves our country.”
