President Donald Trump calls the bombing of three nuclear facilities in Iran a “spectacular military success.”
He called on Iran to bring peace quickly, or the United States will follow other goals with “speed” and “precision”.
“This cannot last. Either there is peace or it will cause tragedy for Iran, far more than we have seen in the last eight days,” Trump said in a White House address to the country.
Israel initially attacked Iran earlier this month, while Americans and Iranians were in nuclear negotiations. Trump urged Iran to continue negotiations, but on Saturday he continued his strike.
Trump appeared with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who boasted about the success of the mission.
“Iran’s nuclear-rich facilities have been completely eliminated,” Trump said. “Iran is a bully in the Middle East and peace must be achieved now. If they don’t, the attacks in the future will be much bigger and much easier.”
The Iranians have not yet stated exactly what happened in the middle of the night. We don’t know the full extent of the damage.
The bombing was the first time since the Iranian revolution in 1979, when the United States sent troops into Iran to attack facilities within the country.
Using “Bunker Buster Bombs”, the GBU-57A’s huge ordnance penetrator, the United States hit Fordo, Natanz and Esfahan in the middle of the local era.
In his speech, Trump described three goals as “the most difficult” and said that if peace is not “fast”, the United States will follow other locations.
“Remember, there are many goals,” Trump said. “Tonight is by far the most difficult, and perhaps the deadliest.”
Trump announced the strike Saturday night in a post about truth socialization as all our planes left Iranian space. According to CBS News, the United States contacted Iran on Saturday, saying the strike was intended and “no planning to formulate regime change efforts.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Trump administration expressed concern about the attack.
“President Trump and I often say, ‘Peace by strength.’ First is strength, then peace,” Netanyahu said in his speech after the explosion. “Tonight, President Trump and the United States have great actions.”
The conflict sparked the conflict on June 13, when Israel’s attack on nuclear and military targets surprised Iran to destroy Iran’s nuclear energy.
Military officials said Iran launched hundreds of rockets and drones in Israel in retaliation.
HRANA, a Washington human rights activist who has long tracked Iran, said 657 people have been killed so far. Iran retaliated against Israel’s missile attacks, killing at least 24 people.
