Ghislaine Maxwell interview transcript released by the U.S. Department of Justice

According to the release transcript of her interview, Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted assistant to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, told U.S. officials that there is no “customer list” with high discussion.

Maxwell said in a July interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that she “had no knowledge of any blackmail” and had not witnessed any inappropriate behavior by President Donald Trump or former President Bill Clinton.

She also discussed her relationship with Epstein and Prince Andrew and called the allegations that he had sex with a minor girl at home “unthinkable.”

Maxwell is seeking Trump’s pardon and is accused of lying to federal officials.

The interview happened as the Trump administration disclosed more information about Epstein under ongoing pressure – a relationship with Trump, according to the president.

Shortly after an interview with Blanche, Blanche previously worked as Trump’s personal attorney — Maxwell moved from a prison in Florida to another low-security prison in Texas. It is not clear why this move is taken.

The White House has been insisting that “no leniency or discussion” in the case of Maxwell.

Maxwell is currently sentenced to 20 years in a sex trafficking program and asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn her conviction. Her lawyers said they would “welcome” the president’s pardon.

Trump’s own Republican Party has also been increasing pressure to increase transparency in the investigation into Epstein. But the president accused his political opponents of using the case to distract him from the government’s victory.

In the transcript – a total of 300 pages, some people have re-edited – Maxwell said that although she thinks Trump and Epstein are friendly in a social environment, she doesn’t think they are close friends.

“I’ve never actually met a president in any type of massage environment,” she said, suggesting that some victims said the massage services were used to invite them to include Epstein’s crimes. “The president has never been inappropriate to anyone.”

She added: “When I was with him, he was gentleman in every way.”

She also said she doesn’t remember Trump sending Epstein’s 50th birthday note in 2003, which caused recent headlines after the Wall Street Journal reported it.

In the interview, Blanche also asked Maxwell about the “customer list” of so-called high-profile figures who have become the subject of conspiracy theories in recent years.

Maxwell was asked about several other famous figures, including Bill Gates, Elon Musk, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barack, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy, actor Kevin Spacey, model Naomi Campbell and Prince Andrew – she denied that she had introduced Epstein.

His high-profile employee list has become the focus of conspiracy theorists who insist that the “deep state” hides it to protect prominent players in Epstein’s crimes.

Several figures in the Trump administration — including FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino — have repeated these claims in the past, although they have since been backtracked.

“There is no list,” Maxwell said.

She also talked about Prince Andrew, whose relationship with Epstein led to a consequence, and he resigned from his royal duties.

She called it a “flat unreality” and she was the one who introduced the Duke of York to Epstein.

“First of all, let’s say, I did not introduce him to Prince Andrew,” she said.

She spoke from a distance with the Duchess of Price Andrew and York Sarah Ferguson.

Maxwell also talked about Prince Andrew’s relationship with a woman whose name has been edited in the transcript.

She said she found the allegations against the Duke of York “unthinkable” in part because of the size of her house that allegedly happened.

She was asked about “famous photos” of Prince Andrew and the nameless woman, Maxwell in the backstage. She told Blanche that the photo was fake.

The prince was charged by Virginia Giuffre, who was not named on the transcript, who sexually abused her at the age of 17. He denied the allegations but reached a financial settlement with her in 2022, in which he was not responsible or apologized.

Giuffre committed suicide earlier this year. Her family denounced the Justice Department for interviewing Maxwell and said she was a “monster” and could not trust testimony.

According to Maxwell, she first became friends with Epstein in 1991 and then developed a sexual relationship with him.

Even after the relationship ended, she said she still received Epstein’s salary – up to $250,000 (£184,782) per year by 2009 – and was still a “friend with benefits”. She added that their relationship “little did not exist” between 2010 and his death.

Maxwell was asked to think about Epstein’s death, who died in a New York prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sexual trafficking charges.

“I don’t believe he died of suicide, no,” she said, although she “has no reason” to believe that he was killed to make him killed.

“It’s ridiculous,” she said. “I also happen to think that if that’s what they want, they’ll have a lot of opportunities when he’s not going to jail.”

She added: “And if they are worried about blackmail or anything from him, he will be a very easy target.”

Before the release of the transcript, Trump has been putting pressure — including many of his own supporters and voices within his own party — to increase transparency about the investigation found on Epstein’s investigation.

Earlier this year, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump that his name appeared in the archives.

He has never been charged with any misconduct related to the case – last year’s campaign said he will promote more information about the case.

But he turned his stance in the administration for months, saying the case was closed and criticized supporters and journalists who continued to put pressure on him.

The Associated Press reported that the House Oversight Committee received the first round of files from the Justice Department earlier Friday—and they provided a subpoena for it.

“The committee intends to make these records public after a thorough review to ensure that any victims’ identification and child sexual abuse material is edited,” the U.S. media quoted James Comer, chairman of the Oversight Committee, as saying.

“The committee will also consult with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that any documents released do not negatively affect ongoing criminal cases and investigations.”
