Police say Vance Luther Boelter was suspected of being armed when arrested

The suspect is accused of fatal shooting of Minnesota lawmakers whose husband was a doomsday “Prepper” in a gun rampage last week, according to the FBI.

The defendant’s wife Vance Boelter told investigators that the family was a small group of Americans “preparing for a major or catastrophic incident.” Court documents said.

Boelter, 57, is accused of killing Democratic House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark.

He also seriously hurt Democratic state Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. Police said there was evidence that he intended to target others.

Police seized Mr Butt in Woods last Sunday after a two-day hunt.

His wife was pulled down amid a traffic suspension hours after the shooting. According to investigators, she brought four children with her friends.

Jenny Boelter told authorities that her husband warned her in a message that she should escape, documents show.

“The text states what they should prepare for the war, they need to leave the house, and the guns may appear in the house,” FBI agent Terry Getsch wrote in an affidavit issued Friday.

In her car, investigators found about $10,000 in cash, passport and two guns. Mrs. Boelter has not been charged with any crime.

She said her husband gave her a “rescue plan” and what to do if she needs to leave the house.

Mrs. Boelter also said her husband had a business partner in Washington, northwestern United States, who runs a security company and a “fishing suit” called “Red Lion” in Congo, Africa.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, called the shooting “targeted political violence.”

According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Mr. Boetler wrote a rambling letter claiming that the state’s governor had ordered him to kill Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, part of Walz’s seat in the Senate.

There is no evidence of any such plot.

Klobuchar and another Senator of Minnesota, Tina Smith, and Walz, are among Democratic politicians, listing about 70 targets in Mr. Boetler’s property, according to local media reports.

Police said the suspect disguised as a policeman and could enter the house of two U.S. lawmakers who fired the gun. He wore a vest with a Taser and badge.

Yvette Hoffman, who survived the attack, was released Thursday while her husband is still taking care of him.

Mrs. Hoffman was shot dead while covering her daughter Hope from the gunshot. Hopefully who calls 911.
