Donald Trump to join federal law enforcement officers on the streets Washington, DC On Thursday, his administration continued to take over local police forces as his administration continued to deploy in the National Guard.

“I’m going out with the police and the military tonight,” Trump said in an interview with talk show host Todd Starnes.

Trump’s plan was not immediately clear and the White House has not finalized its plan. But one briefed the matter and said they knew Trump would take a vehicle to an area identified by the government as a crime hotspot in the evening.

The planned tour marks Trump’s latest effort to declare a crime last week in response to a young government worker who is known in the so-called “Doge” for the alleged bag.

It was also the second day after Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller visited the National Guard units serving at Union Station and promised to expand the crackdown.

The group’s improvisational stops, insults and titles on a rocking shed at Union Station, echoing near the sponge-like entrance hall of the Beaux Arts-style train station. It is unclear whether Trump’s campaign is expected to implement strict security and whether similar protests are allowed.

Trump has long complained about crime rates in Washington, D.C., and the statement opened up a legal justification to put the Metropolitan Police Department under the control of the government and deploy the National Guard from several states.

Trump mistakenly painted DC as a “bloodthirsty criminal” urban hell landscape, authorizing the deployment of law enforcement throughout the city – both predominantly documenting high crime rates, as well as popular nightlife and tourist attractions, including the White House and Union Station.

Since then, the White House has also deployed its immigration enforcement agenda with reducing DC’s crimes, deploying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and other federal law enforcement agencies to detain immigrants on local police patrols to detain immigrants at delayed traffic stops.

The surge in law enforcement corresponds to the number of daily arrests, which the administration uses to argue that Trump’s move was to reduce the number of undocumented immigrants and to receive praise for reducing crimes such as carjacking and shooting.

Addressing a reporter Thursday morning, District Mayor Muriel Bowser said the city had previously suffered violent crimes before Trump took over and added orders from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who forced DC police to work with federal officials focused on immigration and homelessness.
