“But at the first meeting in Alaska, the Russians made concessions almost immediately,” Vickov said. “And part of getting these concessions is learning whether we can see Russians ready to be more accommodating.”

“The President understands that security assurance is essential to ensuring lasting peace, and he directed his national security team to coordinate with our friends in Europe and to continue to work with Ukraine and Russia and discuss these issues.”

“The security of Ukraine depends on the United States and the leaders in our hearts who are with us,” Zelenskyy said on Monday.
“We talked about that and we’re going to talk more about security assurance,” Zelenskyy said. “It’s very important that the United States sends such a strong signal and is ready for security assurance.”
