Janet, 87, and her late husband David Mountbattenthe third Marquis of Milford Haven welcomed two sons throughout their marriage: Ivar and his elder brother, George Mountbattonthe Fourth Marquis of Haven, Milford. David died at the age of 7 in 1970 at the age of 50. His mother never got married.
Ivar said to his childhood thoughts: “We have this wonderful German babysitter who lights us from the word “go.” “In fact, I went on vacation with the babysitter because [she] I won’t refuse my mom to take care of us. …She was absolutely desperate. So we didn’t really see her like the young people. ”
Ivar said his mother’s parenting was “antimental” to him and his brother as he grew up.
“We’re always here, shipped here everywhere, which is great. I didn’t complain in any way, shape or form,” he recalled. “We often said to her, ‘Why don’t you come to Christmas? Why don’t you go to the weekend?” Her stock answered, “I can’t bother.”
Ivar explained that her mother’s indifference “derived from the fact that she never packed her suitcase.”
But Ivar did say that he never felt neglected when he grew up.
“We live the best life. I always say I have nothing to complain about. I am one of those people who just got along with it.” “I never complain, mainly because I know I have lived the best childhood life and I still have the best life and I have nothing to complain about.”
Over the years, Ivar’s relationship with his mother has not improved. He revealed that there is no “no” relationship between them now, which makes Janet bedridden since 2018.
Ivar explained that his mother had a hip replacement and “refuse” to do “all remedies” after the surgery because it was “too painful” for her.
“It’s very lazy,” he added. “The kind of brother and myself that irritated me. So we ended up having to do everything for her.”
Ivar admits that he “often” considers his overall relationship with his mother.
“Will I be sad when she finally goes?” he wondered. “I think, yes, I’ll be sad.”
