Stefanik, a Trump ally, has already held a Republican campaign for the governor of New York, where protesters booed the stage in honor of late Clinton County political leader John Zurlo.
“NY21 now witnesses the shameful behavior of radical far-end Democratic agitators who have tried humiliatingly to drown and in Plattsburgh Stefanik says on X Monday morning.
As Stefanik approached the podium, the protesters booed the MP and shouted, “Traitor!” until she retreated with the other officials. Later, Stefanik returned to the podium and spoke about the cry of the protesters.

After the game, Stefanik explained why she returned to the podium while speaking to reporters.
“I think the radicals will calm down out of respect for the Zulilo family,” she said. “Obviously, they didn’t do that, but I won’t let them drown me because they talk about how important it is to commemorate John Zulilo’s legacy.”

Despite protesters continuing, Stefanick said it was important to “make sure the Zulo family heard me.” The possible gubernatorial candidate later clarified in her statement to X that she also addressed her family in private.
During the August Congress recession, House members have been holding events and hosting events in their hometowns.

The protesters’ messages were mixed on Monday as signs of shush Stefanik’s stage rejected Trump’s second agenda on multiple grounds including U.S. immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) deportation, and Stefanik’s vote to praise Megabier.
Other signs of protest mentioned racism and called Stefanik a “bully.”

Stefanik has not officially launched a campaign against current Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul, but she has been Lay the foundation for months and criticism of the governor’s leadership in anti-Trump politics.
