“Let me warn anyone who will testify tomorrow. If you don’t answer my questions tomorrow, the attorney will make sure you answer them in court,” she added, “You can run, but you can’t hide. ”
Despite the fact that Democrats dominate California politics, Macchido promised: “We are not backing down on this battle.”
“You are taking Californians away from the rights and we are tired of democracy that dies here,” she said. “We will fight back.”
She added that if Republicans can’t stop the redistricting plan in parliament, their victory will be “in court, otherwise it will be in the ballot box.”

The California Legislature proposed a constitutional amendment on Monday, which will hold a referendum in November. If California voters pass, the amendment will allow the legislature to temporarily suspend its nonpartisan district committees and move forward through a re-division plan developed by the DCCC.

Newsom’s office declined a request for comment from Fox News Digital, a spokesman said he would “point you to the Legislature” given that it was related to the legislative process.
Fox News Digital also contacted Democrat Robert Rivas, but received no response at the time of publication.
