California Republicans sued to stop news agency re-division drive

California Republicans urge the state’s Supreme Court to stop Gov. Gavin Newsom Democrats push from moving forward quickly to redrawing the congressional district, adding up to five left-leaning seats in the Blue State.

Four Republican lawmakers filed lawsuits Tuesday California Supreme Court To stop the Democratic state legislature from voting this weekend to push the driving force for rezoning.

“Today, I joined a colleague’s lawsuit, challenging the hasty redistricting process. California’s constitution requires bills to be printed for 30 days, but this safeguard was ignored. The move by Republican lawmakers is the latest development in a high-stakes battle between California and Texas Democrats and Texas Democrats, a congressional re-division ahead of next year’s midterm elections.

Trump and his political team aim to prevent what happened during his first term in the White House, when Democrats stormed the House majority in the 2018 midterm elections.

While Republicans have not faced constitutional restrictions on subverting the current Congressional map in Texas, in California, the pathways for news and Democrats are much more complex.

The governor will hold a special election this year to get voter approval to eliminate the constitutional amendment that constitutes the non-partisan redivision committee.

In the Democratic-led California Legislature, a two-thirds majority would be required to hold a referendum, Sacramento Democrats announced a bill Monday to move forward.

But an emergency petition filed by state Republican lawmakers on Tuesday believes that the California Constitution prevents the legislature from acting on the redistricting bill until next month, as new legislation requires a 30-day review period.

The California Parliamentary Election Commission held a hearing Tuesday, and the lawsuit was filed. Republican lawmakers and Republicans on the committee made comments to the panel, severely criticizing the Democratic Party’s rezoning efforts.

“Californians vote to redistribute to the people rather than politicians. Democrats are doing what is blatant power grab, and the California Republican will fight against it with every opportunity to protect the voices of voters.”

“Their plans will break down the community, silent public opinion and eliminate the transparency voters demand when establishing a civic redistricting committee,” added Corrin Rankin, chairman of the California Republican Party, in a statement to Fox News.

But Newsom argued this week: “California and Californians are the only targets of the Trump administration, and we won’t be idle while they order Texas and other states to hold their next elections to maintain power – pursuing more extreme and unpopular policies.”

Last week, news agencies revealed the Democratic re-division-driven activity in California, “Here we are in the open, we are in the open until the 2026 midterm elections and a vote here [Trump] Try to manipulate the system again.

Newsom is considered a contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, and the California Republican Party claims: “Newsom launches his shadow presidential campaign by trying to dig out and steal the independent, bipartisan citizen re-division process.”

The Newsom event held last week also served as a fundraiser to raise a lot of campaign cash to sell the statewide re-division of California.

According to public opinion polls, the nonpartisan redistricting committee was formed 15 years ago and remains popular among most Californians.

That’s why Newsom and California Democratic lawmakers promised not to completely abolish the committee, but instead to temporarily replace the next three election cycles by the legislature.

The proposed map is submitted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

and former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthyHe has represented a congressional district in the Central Valley of California for 17 years, and he argued in Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Future,” “When you think about how they draw these lines, there is no hearing.

McCarthy, who is helping lead the Republican fundraiser to oppose the press agency and the California Democrats held a referendum this fall, said: “November 4 will be an election where people can actually comment,” noting that the polls express strong support for the current non-partisan redistribution committee.

Other high-profile Republicans also object to efforts to temporarily replace the committee. The most obvious one is the former government. Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Republican governor of California, which was dominated by Democrats for the last time.

The longtime Hollywood action star said he mobilized opposition to Newsom’s push to temporarily repeal the state’s nonpartisan redivision committee.

“I’m preparing for a fight in the competition,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a social media post on Friday, including a photo of a former professional bodybuilding champion lifting weights.
