US Air Force The latest guidance has been released that will no longer meet the centralized and standardized separation of service members that meet military requirements, including those affected by changes in transgender policy.
Associated Press The change was first reported, citing an internal memorandum of August 12, 2025.
According to the memorandum, once the board confirms that members meet the standards of the policy, “the board must recommend separation.”
The hearing is closed and will not be recorded. Instead, case files include abbreviated transcripts prepared after the hearing. This policy narrows the role of the board to a factual discovery.
