Former Delaware Gov. Mike Castle is the Republican Warm, who advocated the memorial coin program for creating a popular 50-state dormitory program during his tenure in Congress. He is 86 years old.
The Delaware Republican Party announced that the castle died Thursday in Greenville, but there were no other details.

Castle is one of Delaware’s most successful politicians until his amazing frustration in the U.S. Senate seat in 2010, the stunning Democrats’ Joe Biden Holding before becoming vice president.
In Congress, Castle became the leader of centrist Republicans, earning a reputation of fiscal conservatism and socially moderate, without fear of challenging party boundaries on issues such as government spending to environmental protection and abortion.

As the sole representative of the Delaware state in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2011, he supported spending and tax cuts. The Castle played a role in improving children’s nutrition programs and establishing a childless role that did not leave educational reform programs. His signature issue in Congress was the Memorial Doors Program, which features coins commemorating each state, With Delaware. He was called “Minding Members” by the coin rating service coin guarantee company.

These dormitories increased federal revenue when they exited circulation. He also helped develop a similar plan, commemorating the U.S. president with dollar coins starting in 2007 and commemorating the “America” quarterly plans for national parks, monuments and natural fields starting in 2010.
“Michael Castle embodies the best public service – temperance, integrity and a strong commitment to all Delaware,” Delaware Republican chairman Gene Truono said in a statement Thursday.

Before becoming governor in 1985, Castle was a state legislator and deputy governor.
