First in Fox: The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the largest alliance of the United States, recognizes former Trump Justice Department official Aaron Reitz Become the next Attorney General of Texas.
This is because current Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican and Trump ally, refused to run for reelection, but chose to challenge Republican Sen. John Cornyn U.S. Senate.
Reitz is a former Marine and has also served on Paxton and Sen staff. Ted CruzR-Texas.

Prior to that, he served under the leadership of the U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi As assistant attorney general of the Office of Legal Policy.
Reitz’s campaign has now gained new momentum through important recognition from NBPC, a national group representing nearly 20,000 border patrols and personnel.
NBPC President Paul Perez said in a statement with Fox News Digital Numbers that Reitz “has a principled fighter, with a deep sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to support the mission of Border Patrol personnel.”
Perez said Wrights “supported our support time and time again” throughout his career, and NBPC “has confident that Aaron will be a fierce and effective ally to defend every inch of every inch” on the 1,200-mile-long southern border.
“As Border Patrol agents, we are proud to be on the frontline of American security. As Marines, Aaron understands that commitment.”

Later, as Cruz’s chief of staff, Reitz “drives key legislative initiatives to secure the border – from restoring the construction of the border wall and criminalizing visas to provide support to NGOs and strengthening the Ice and Border Patrol.”

He vowed that NBPC “will not have any ally in the Texas Attorney General’s office than me,” one of the most powerful positions in Texas politics.

He promised to “use every tool available in Texas law” to “help protect the border and align with the U.S. Border Patrol.”
The Texas primary will be held on March 3, 2026. Reitz faces Mayes Middleton, a Texas Senate oil director and conservative Republican, against state Senator Mayes Middleton. Middleton is also using pro-Trump’s “America First Cartenda”, such as prosecution of sanctuary jurisdictions, combating crime and gender ideology, and eliminating waste, fraud and abuse in government.
This is because Texas is a showdown in national headlines for rezoning between Republican and Democratic lawmakers. After Democratic members of the Texas House fled the state to break the quorum to thwart the Republican re-division plan, the attorney general has filed a legal lawsuit to arrest AWOL lawmakers and return them to Austin for a resumption of the vote.
