this Ministry of Justice It announced on Thursday that it filed criminal charges against five fugitives, allegedly senior leaders of the designated foreign terrorist group Joint Cartel and involved in a massive drug distribution network.

Matthew Galeotti, head of the Justice Criminal Division, said the news was an “important step” for the Justice Department and the result of “extraordinary police.”

“This investigation began in a small town in Central America, leading to a secret methamphetamine laboratory in Mimokan, Mexico. … This case proves our relentless pursuit of cartel leaders who flooded our communities with illegal drugs and violently attacked citizens on both sides of the border.”

The Trump administration has taken a whole administration approach to addressing the Manchester United cartel.

In addition to the indictment announced Thursday, the Treasury Department announced economic sanctions on several of its so-called leaders, and the State Department announced a $26 million reward to obtain information that led to the arrest of five defendants, who are still large.

Facing the charges are Juan Jose Farias Alvarez, Alfonso Fernandez Magalon, Luis Enrique Enrique Baragan Chavez, Edgar Orosco Cabadas and Nicholas Sera Santana.

The five men allegedly participated in a decades-long plot to create and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine and Fentanylincluding entry into the United States. They face drug trafficking charges, which are hit by a maximum sentence.
