“Sharp Corner” has a unique story
Ben Foster in a sharp corner
Vertical Entertainment/Pretty Everett CollectionBen Foster The movie star Josh is a relatively successful family man who married Rachel (Cobie Smulders) and live with son Max (William Kosovic). After moving into the dream home, the family found it located in a sharp corner prone to fatal accidents. When it first happened, the family’s sense of security in their own home was irreparable.
Josh’s reaction to the ongoing accident involved attempts to make the driver and his family safer. But he made himself obsessed with the crash every time he woke up was consumed. For Josh, nothing is more important than solving this problem or training to help any potential victim of accidents. This may make everything Josh values throughout his life.
Ben Foster offers Oscar performance

Ben Foster in a sharp corner
Vertical Entertainment/Pretty Everett CollectionFoster Carry Sharp corners On the shoulders of one of the best turns of his career. It’s too early to predict whether Foster will cause the Oscar buzz, but there were limited releases of drama earlier this year. In my opinion, he deserves an Oscar nomination because his performance is Josh, which is sympathetic and disturbing.
Josh can only partially express the serious damage he caused to the first two accidents in the house, and his wife would not interact with him at all. Many of Josh’s upheavals and subsequent obsessions are silently conveyed by Foster’s face and body language. Is Josh trying to restore his power by preparing for future accidents? Or is he suffering from untreated PTSD? The film has largely opened up people to the explanation. But this doesn’t show that Josh’s behavior is heroic, especially later in the film, when he goes to some morally suspicious extremes.
This is a slow burning thriller, a great third act

Sharp corners It may be tested for patience in some viewers, and this is not a traditional story. In some ways, it reminds me of Nightcrawlerstarring in the 2014 thriller Jake Gyllenhaal. The only action you see in this movie is the recurring car crashes and their consequences. The real drama of this flick is Josh’s internal turmoil and the price he paid for his obsession.
If you stick with this movie, then the third act rewards the audience with a wonderful consciousness, as Josh waits for the accident and is absolutely sure it will happen. We don’t spoil certain details, but the ending feels like the right choice for this movie.
Sharp corners Now flowing Hu Lu.
