Scientists say the meteorites that fell into American houses are older than Earth.

NASA confirmed the object flew across the sky in broad daylight before exploding in Georgia on June 26.

Researchers at the University of Georgia examined fragments of rocks that pierced the roof of McDonald’s house.

They found that the meteorite-based type is expected to form 4.56 billion years ago, making it about 20 million years longer than the Earth.

“The special meteor entering the atmosphere has a long history on McDonough’s ground,” said Scott Harris, a geologist at the University of Georgia.

Named the MacDonald Meteorite, the object is the 27th object recovered from Georgia.

Harris hopes to publish his discovery on the composition and speed of asteroids, which will help understand further asteroid threats.
