Trump administration sources told Fox News that Senator Adam Seif (D-Calif.) is under criminal investigation into mortgage fraud.

The investigation comes a month after a story about the Federal Housing Financial Institution (FHFA), which referred the criminal referral to the Department of Justice (DOJ), saying Schiff had forged bank documents and property records in multiple cases for more favorable loan terms.
In a 2011 affidavit signed by California lawmakers at the time, Schiff confirmed that a property in Montgomery County, Maryland was his primary residence.

Schiff also owns an apartment in Burbank, California, which he claimed during his Senate campaign was his primary residence.
Schiff’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the matter.
