The Major League Baseball trade deadline approaches Thursday, Philadelphia Philadelphia Jhoan Durán, who was close-up throwing from the Minnesota twins, was also strengthening their roster with a series of moves Wednesday.

Durán, 27, is one of the most coveted players of the week. The right-hander had 2.01 ERA in 49 innings this season, 16 saves and 53 strikeouts. To get him, the Phillies sent two top prospects – catcher Eduardo Tait and right-hander Mick Abel to Minnesota.

In a very few twists, the same twins Taylor and Taylor Rogers were both on the same day. Tyler Rogers and rescuer Ryan Helsley headed to the Mets, who are playing in the NL Eastern Conference with the Phillies. The two join Edwin Díaz and suddenly a powerful New York bullpen appears.

Rogers is known for the delivery of submarines, with his ERA offering 1.80 ERAs, 38 strikeouts, and only 4 appearances and 43 appearances. The Mets gave up pitchers José Buttó and Blade Tidwell and outfielder Drew Gilbert to get him.

Helsley is a St Louis midstream station for the past seven seasons, with 3.00 ERA and 21 savings this year. The Mets sent three minor leagues in Cardinals: infielder Jesus Baez and right-handers Nate Dohm and Frank Elissalt.

While many top names including Mitch Keller of Pittsburgh, Steven Kwan of Cleveland and slugger eugeniosuárez of Arizona are still available, several other deals suggest a warming market ahead of the 6 p.m. ET deadline on Thursday.

The Reds acquired 2023 Gold Glove third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes from the Pirates in exchange for left-handed Taylor Rogers, shortstop Prospect Sammy Stafura and Cash. Hayes, 28, reached .236 with two home runs and 36 RBIs this season, and signed a contract in 2029 and received a club option for 2030.

The Yankees added outfielder Austin Slater to the White Sox, seeking a reliable right-handed bat for stretching. Slater, 32, hit .236 with five home runs and .859 against lefty. Chicago has received a return from minor league pitcher Gage Ziehl.

Other Wednesday deals include:

  • Angels received left-handed Jake Eder and first baseman Sam Brown rescuers Andrew Chafin and Luis García from the Nationals.

  • The Braves added veteran rescuer Tyler Kinley to prospect Austin Smith’s Rockies.

  • The Mariners picked left-handed Jeter Martinez from the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Suárez returned to the Diamondbacks roster on Wednesday after a finger panic earlier this week. Arizona, which has the last nine losers, is still likely to be associated with other players, including pitchers Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen.
