Trump responds to deadly Manhattan shooting, killing New York Police Department officials

president Donald Trump Expressed support for law enforcement agencies and said he was confident in their ability to determine why the “crazy crazy man” opened fire at a Manhattan office building on Monday New York City Police Department Officer.

“I have briefed the tragic shootings in Manhattan, which is where I know and love,” Trump said in a social media post on Tuesday. “I believe our law enforcement agencies can achieve the reasons why such crazy madman causes such meaningless violence. My heart is with the families of four murdered people, including SUNY officials, who made the ultimate sacrifice. God bless the New York Police Department, New York and God bless New York!”

Authorities identified the gunman as Shane Tamura of Las Vegas, who died from self-inflicted gun wounds.

Four people were killed in the shooting, including Dillal Islam, a 36-year-old New York Police Department official.

“He is doing the work we want him to do. He put himself in the way he hurts. He made the ultimate sacrifice,” Police Chief Jessica Tisch said in a press conference Monday. “He died in life. A hero.”

Mayor of New York City Eric Adams The city’s flag will be lowered to half of people on Tuesday in honor of Islam.

“To respect the memories of New York Police Officer Didal Islam, who had multiple victims of a mass shooting yesterday in Midtown Manhattan at 345 Park Avenue, I ordered all the city buildings and all the fixed Flagstaffs flags to lower to half of the notice.”

“Didal Islamic officials died in New York City’s heroes and protectors. We will never forget you,” Adams wrote in another post on X.
