‘Hero’ policeman who died during shooting of skyscrapers in New York saves life

One of four people killed in the shooting attack in an office building in a busy area of New York City is the father of a service police officer.

Didarul Islam, 36, was shot dead while providing the location for Park Avenue. Officials said he has moved to the United States from Bangladesh, with two children and is looking forward to a third of his pregnant wife. They said he died of a “hero”.

Islam is believed to be first shot when Tamura entered the skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue. He continued to attack the others, climbed to the 33rd floor of the building, and lifted his gun.
