A U.S. tech company announced it has launched an investigation after a big screen hug at a Coldplay concert — rumored that two of the employees, including its CEO, were in popularity.
In the clips that originally appeared on the huge screen of the Boston concert, two people were seen wrapping their arms around each other.
Men and women suddenly hide on the camera as their faces appear thousands of times.
Both were rumored by the incident caused by the company’s astronomer’s comments by the band leader, and then spread online, but the information has not been proven by the company.
The video of the two swayed the music and then quickly tried to hide on the internet after Wednesday night’s concert.
Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin told the crowd after seeing the two hiding, “They have an affair, or they’re just shy.”
The initial video posted to Tiktok received millions of views. It then shares on the platform, becomes a meme, and makes fun of it on TV shows.
Two days after the internet was flooded with people about embracing, astronomers issued their own statement announcing an investigation into the matter without specifying a video.
“Astronomers are committed to guiding our values and culture since their inception,” the statement said. “Our leaders are expected to set standards in behavior and accountability. The board has formally investigated the matter and we will have additional details to share soon.”
The man on the video is Andy Byron, CEO of the astronomer, who has been working at the company since July 2023. Byron himself has not confirmed his identity in the video. The woman was identified online as the company’s chief people, Kristin Cabot, who has been with astronomers since November 2024.
She also did not confirm her identity. The BBC cannot confirm the identity of people in the video.
The astronomer’s statement added that Mr Byron has not issued a personal statement, otherwise the report would be incorrect. It also said that there were no other employees in the video.
Mr. Byron’s misrepresentation became popular on Thursday.
