Kansas City Chief’s lenient catcher Rashee Rice was sentenced to 30 days in prison Thursday after authorities said he and another speeding driver caused a ripple crash that injured several people who were injured on the Dallas highway last year.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office said Rice pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony counts involving serious personal injury and racing on the highway, causing personal injury in a March 2024 crash. Prosecutors said Rice was sentenced to five years of probation extension and 30 days in prison as part of the plea agreement.
Prosecutors said he also had to pay out of pocket for the victims, with a total cost of about $115,000.
