Meanwhile, Mamdani has been keen to emphasize his rivals’ connections to Trump, who is unpopular deep in True Blue New York City.

“Today’s news confirms this: Cuomo is Trump’s choice for mayor. The White House is considering work on cleaning up areas for Adams and Sliwa,” he wrote on X.

A poll on Tuesday found Adams in the election was 9% of the votes – Mamdani was 42%, Cuomo was 26%, and Sliwa was 17%.
