Let’s start with the news Three states have handed over hundreds of members of their National Guard to the country’s capital Trump administration strives to overhaul policing in Washington Through federal repression.
West Virginia said it deployed 300 to 400 guard units, while South Carolina promised 200, and Ohio said it would send 150 people in the next few days.
The move announced on Saturday comes as protesters overturn federal law enforcement and National Guard forces, with Donald Trump’s executive order bringing local police forces to federal government and activates about 800 members of the Columbia National Guard.
West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s office says A statement Deployment is a “commitment to public safety and regional cooperation” and the state will provide equipment and “instruct approximately 300-400 skilled personnel as directed”.
