Padilla claims despite shouting Nom on Presser

California Democratic Senator Alex Padilla claimed on Sunday that he just wanted to ask a question Homeland Security A press conference by Secretary Kristi Noem held last week in Los Angeles.

“I’m not trying to remain disrespectful or disruptive — I don’t think I am,” the senator said. “I’m just asking a question, just like members of the press ask questions, members of Congress, members of the Senate ask questions to fulfill our work to keep the government accountable.”

Padilla was handcuffed and briefly detained by an officer Trump administration Immigration raids sparked unrest in Los Angeles, with less protests across the country this month.

Video of the incident shows Padilla trying to walk to Noem while speaking on the podium and trying to yell at the secretary, but law enforcement officers stepped in and forcibly stopped Padilla’s progress.

The video shows Padilla eventually was taken out of the room, taken to the ground and handcuffed. Fox News reporters who attended the press conference said Padilla appeared to have been detained for some time.

Padilla and Noem finally held a meeting afterward, and despite a strong disagreement between the two, Padilla’s office described it as “civil” and Noem was called “kind”.

Padilla said in another television appearance on Sunday that he learned from his later meeting with Noem that he had “no substantive, nothing content”.
