New York City Socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani this week tried to go back to his long-term record, dating back to 2020 criticizing the New York Police Department and calling for compensation.
Mandani told reporters Wednesday after a New York Police Department official in Midtown Manhattan, NY that he “did not work hard to donate to police” and was “a candidate for candidates, not being fixed in time, a person who learns and leads, which means I’ve grown up, which means focusing on those who deserve attention.”
Mamdani added that his past calls for a return of police officers was due to the “frustration” of George Floyd’s death.
