R-Ky. Rep. Thomas Massie joined D-Calif’s progressive Rep. Ro Khanna on Sunday to call for a subpoena on Jeffrey Epstein’s property.
Masi and Kana The move and accompanying legislation were announced during a show-up with host Jonathan Karl. In addition to the call for subpoena, the two’s legislation will force the House to vote on the release of the government’s Epstein archives.
“Well, I think we deserve more books. Let’s get financial records of the estate. Where – follow this money, as they say here,” Massie said. “We should look at the plea deal. Open it. See what deal is. What is the cut deal? I think it’s not just that letter.”
Massi also said that Americans should see the so-called birthday letter written by Donald Trump to Epstein in 2003. The letter was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, but Trump denied it existed and sued the document for defamation.

House Speaker Mike Johnson avoided a scheduled vote on the legislation last week and began the day starting in August. Johnson appeared in NBC News “With the Press” on Sunday, saying Massie and Khanna pushed for legislation as “reckless”.
He argued that he favored the “maximum disclosure” Epstein’s documents, But claims that the legislation of Massie and Khanna lacks safeguards.

Many Republicans criticized Democrats for focusing on the Epstein case because it has become a problem at the White House. Critics say Democrats have had little interest in the issue over the years, although Karna denies these claims.
