Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to four life sentences on Wednesday to murders of four American college students, local police released documents surrounding the case.
New details have sent more cases that attracted Americans and shocked the small student town of Moscow, Idaho.
Kohberger murdered Kelly Gonkavis, Ethan Chadan, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen on November 13, 2022 at their off-campus home.
However, Kohberger’s motivation is not well known. He also refused to speak at the sentencing hearing, meaning there is still a lot of mystery around the case. Furthermore, many other documents related to the case remained sealed.

Goncavis and the kernel have terrible wounds
Unsealed documents have made new sense to the cruelty of the murder.
They said the kernel was one of the victims and was stabbed more than 50 times.
Police said many of the wounds were “defensive” and showed she might have tried to protect herself from attacks. One of the wounds was a cut on her left hand between her index finger and thumb.
Police added that this indicates “a fierce struggle has taken place.”
Investigators also said Goncavis’ face was “disfigured” by her wound.
Surviving roommate did not call 911
Two roommates on the night of the attack were not attacked by Koberg.
Dylan Mortensen told police she thought she thought it was from the murder night of Goncalves and she heard screams, the documents said.
Ms Mortensen said she saw a man in black leaving the house while she was looking outside the room. She also said she heard someone running from one floor to another in the house.
She told police that she did not call 911 after seeing a masked person in the room because “she was intoxicated and didn’t want to believe what happened.”
When Ms Mortensen told other surviving roommate Bethany Funke about what she saw, Ms Funke reportedly thought it might be a member of the College Brotherhood, making jokes on them.
Prisoner discovers Koberg “weird”
The newly released documents also show that Koberg’s former compatriot prisoners found him “weird”.
One prisoner said he had unusual habits, including his “daily” washing hands and spending 45 minutes to an hour of showering”.
He is said to be awake most of the nights.
“Kohberger is awake almost all night and only takes a nap during the day,” police said, noting that he would chat with his mother “for hours a day.”
Koberg was injured after murder
Prior to his arrest, Koberg worked as a teaching assistant at another Washington State University educational institution.
The documents say that after the murder, another teaching assistant working at the university noticed that Koberg was injured.
The assistant coach told police that around October and November 11, 2022, Koberg was injured, including scratches on his face and knuckle wounds.
When asked about his injury, Koberg told his colleagues that he had a car accident.
