White House says Trump has been diagnosed with venous condition

The White House announced Thursday that U.S. President Donald Trump suffered from a chronic venous condition, and after days of speculation, the photos showed photos of a bruise on his hands.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump underwent a “comprehensive test” after recent swelling of his legs, including a diagnostic vascular study.

Levitt said Trump’s bruised hands were consistent with “tissue damage that often shakes hands” when taking aspirin, which she said was “part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

Trump, 79, often touted his health, once described himself as “the healthiest president ever.”

The venous condition found in recent exams is called chronic venous insufficiency, and when the veins in the legs fail to pump blood into the heart, it can cause it to fill in the lower limbs and then swell.

Levitt said “there is no evidence of deep venous thrombosis or arterial disease” and all the results of the test were “within normal range.”

This situation is “benign and universal”, especially among people over the age of 70, according to Sean Barbabella’s notes released to journalists by White House physician Sean Barbabella.

Bababera said in the note that other tests showed “no signs of heart failure, renal dysfunction or systemic disease,” Bababera said in the note, confirming information from Levitt’s previous briefing.

Overall, Trump is in a “good health” state, the doctor wrote.

Photographers captured what appeared to be Trump’s swollen legs in the FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey on July 13, and then photographed earlier this week showed his bruises during a meeting with Bahrainian Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the White House.

A bruised hand of the president was filmed when he met with French President Emmanuel Macron in February.

Swelling of legs and bruising prompted online speculation and rumors that the president may be experiencing an undisclosed illness.

After an annual physical examination in April, Barbabella wrote that Trump “displays cognitive and physical health.”

Trump was only 78 years and 7 months old when he was sworn in for his second term in January, making him the oldest president of all time and the leader of the United States.
