Hiba Rahim, deputy executive director of the Florida chapter of the U.S. Council on Islamic Relations (CAIR), said Musallet’s family hopes Donald Trump and the Justice and State department sue their killers under U.S. law.
She also condemned a State Department statement that it had no comment on Musallet’s death “out of respect for the privacy of families and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Rahim said: “We are not asking, his family is not asking for silence. We need accountability.
“If Sayfollah is killed by anyone else or in another country, an investigation has been conducted and there will be an attempt to arrest and call for arrest and anger in Washington.
“Where is the anger of our government? Where is the accountability?”
When he remembered that his nephew was “a very rare soul”, Hasem Musallet burst into tears and could help anyone in need. He said Musallet was traveling with Florida family and enjoying time in the mountains a few days before his death and barbecue with friends on the West Bank.
“He’s very loving and caring. Like other 20-year-olds, he’ll go out with friends after get off work, he’ll watch comedy, he’ll go out to drive, he’ll go to the beach. He’ll always come to my house and come to my house, come to his grandmother, give her a hug, kiss her hands,” Hasem said.
The Israeli military claimed the incident happened after the Israelis threw stones and “violent confrontation” and said it was investigating the incident. Rahim refuted this, saying, “There is no conflict. These are the lies we hear every time the guilty party commits a huge activity, like we see when we die in Sayfollah.
“This is Not an isolated tragedy. There is a devastating pattern in which Americans are killed in Israel and murdered by Israeli forces and settlers. ”
