Former Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe told the bipartisan House Task Force that the task force investigated an assassination attempt in December 2024, with direct changes to the agency including expanding the use of drones for surveillance purposes and combining larger anti-drone technology to mitigate dynamic attacks on other drones.
Similarly, the agency overhauled its radio communication networks and their interoperability with Secret Services and state and local law enforcement personnel. Gage said simplifying these radio communications was a major change, he said that because there was no integrated system, he sometimes also equipped with up to five radios.
Rowe also told lawmakers that the agency is seeking to strengthen its staffing and allocate more special agents for Trump’s security details. Luo said the agency plans to use some of the additional $231 million approved by Congress for the Secret Service in a Frozen AAP Spending Act in September 2024 to hire 1,000 new agents and officials in 2025.

Other potential changes in the work include building precise replicas of the White House, rather than using Tyler Perry’s White House replicas at the Atlanta film studio like Agents did.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran said in an April interview with Fox News’ “What Is About Lara Trump” that the agency is coordinating with the White House to build replicas at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, Maryland.

Gage called it “unforgivable,” meaning that the White House replica has not yet existed and said there should be more value in training.
“This service should really focus on training,” Gage said. “Training requires adding a mindset, where training is as important as the transformation you specify.”
