A man with rifle and tactical equipment was shot dead by police after opening fire at a border patrol facility in Texas, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.
Two officers and a Border Patrol officer were injured in the attack, including a knee shooting. Officials said all three were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The shooting occurred at the entrance to the U.S. Border Patrol Department attachment in McAllen, Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Authorities say Border Patrol and local police have helped to “neutralize” the so-called shooter. His identity has not been made public.
