New book reveals Biden’s team pushes for Trump’s early debate strategy

The book was written by Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal and Isaac Arnsdorf of the Washington Post, senior adviser said.

This strategy will allow Biden to run against Trump before the battlefield states vote early, and set the most favorable terms of debate for Biden, and highlight Biden’s “leadership” and Trump’s “leadership.”

“By the first debate in the spring, you will be able to attract the widest audience, before we get to the summer, before we get to know the Convention, Olympics and family holidays,” said Biden’s senior adviser, reportedly in the April 15, 2024 edition of Politico Plodbook. “In addition, compared to Trump’s weaknesses and chaos, the American people can see you standing next to Trump and showing the power of leadership so that the sooner you debate.”

Even so, the book reports that some Biden aides are hesitant about early debates, and some even argue that Biden should not debate Trump. Specifically, the book cites a Biden donor who imposed a reason for the imposition to the White House in May 2024 as donors reported that donors reported being “shocked” by Biden’s actions during a Chicago fundraising campaign.

Meanwhile, Trump’s White House said that Biden’s debate was counterproductive and revealed Biden’s own weaknesses.

“The only highlight of the debate is Joe Biden’s powerlessness,” White House spokesman Taylor Rogers said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “American voters have witnessed Biden’s weaknesses, his campaign in chaos, and how he looks when the real leader goes missing.”

“Unfortunately, for Democrats, there is no adviser or so-called ‘strategic’ move to save their incompetent candidates and terrible policies from President Trump’s historic, landslide victory.”

A Biden spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
