Pritzker says Trump rhetoric “rich” political violence after Charlie Kirk’s death

Illinois Government JB Pritzkera Democrat condemned the political violence following the death of a conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, despite the governor’s argument that President Donald Trump often triggered political violence.

“I want to express sympathy for Charlie Kirk’s family and Charlie Kirk,” Pritzker told reporters. “I don’t know if this is political violence, because I don’t know who did it…but I would say, unfortunately, political violence has been intensifying in this country, we’ve seen shootings, killings in Minnesota – we’ve seen other political violence happening in other states.”

“I just said it had to stop, and I think there were people in this country who were inciting it,” he continued. “I think the president’s rhetoric often caused people to influence. We’ve seen the thugs on January 6 clearly tripped over the new era of political violence and the president, what did he do? He pardoned them. I mean, what kind of signal is this, what kind of signal does this send to people who want to commit political violence? Not a good person.”

The governor mentioned an incident in June in which Vance Boelter was charged with murdering former Minnesota Speaker Melissa Hortman, Democrat, her husband Mark and their dog at home in Minneapolis.

The incident cited by Pritzker in recent years is just some of the acts of several acts of political violence, as Trump experienced two assassination attempts last year, while Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s husband, D-Calif.

Pritzker later wrote on X: “No one in this country must be afraid of gun violence, whether they go to high school or attend activities on college campuses.”

Bailey added: “That’s not a leader – it’s coward. The leader Illinois deserves takes responsibility, defends freedom of speech, and stands up for the right thing. Unfortunately, JB Pritzker has shown time and time again that he’s not doing his mission.”
