The jury has sat in the high-profile federal trial of Ryan Routh, the North Carolina man accused of assassinating former President Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach Gold Golf Club last September, when Trump was a leading candidate for the 2024 election.

Three groups of 60 potential jurors participated in the selection process, and prosecutors and Routh, who represented themselves, asked questions to potential jurors to assess whether they could attend the trial fairly.

But prosecutors say one of the potential jurors is Haitian and will face a language barrier that they don’t know the other party is black.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon canceled potential jurors for the trial because the woman asserted “I am Marg.” According to Cannon, the statement shows “professing bias.”

Another woman was eliminated as a potential juror and said she “followed only the law of God.”

At Monday’s meeting, Routh’s questions about potential jurors included their views on the Gaza war, their potential position in Greenland when the U.S. was likely to gain Greenland when the president surfaced, and how they would act if they drove in the middle of the road and found a turtle.

In response, Cannon tagged them “politically charged” and said they didn’t have to choose a jury.

Prosecutors claimed Routh tried to kill Trump for weeks and took a seat in the bush on September 15, 2024, when a Secret Service agent found him pointing a rifle at Trump while the then-presidential candidate played golf at his West Palm Beach Country Club. Rous aimed the rifle at the agent, but he gave up his weapon after Secret Service agents opened fire.
