A young teenager on a deep-sea fishing trip in New England this week dragged a bigger and heavier fish than him in a 177-pound (80 kg) Atlantic halibut, which is probably a world record.
Jackson Denio, 13-year-old from Hampton New Hampshireon Monday morning, on cash ledges about 100 miles from the New England coast, are known for their underwater peaks and biodiversity.
Suddenly, he realized that he had encountered something huge.
“Honestly, I think I screamed,” weighing about 120 pounds and being five feet 9 inches tall. “I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m excited.”
Denio set out on Sunday, with about 30 people attending overnight. After everyone caught a lot of Pollack and other fish, Denio told the crew that he wanted to catch a shark. Protectionists frown fishingmany species Threatenedeven if it is very popular among many people A sport and Commercial use.
The crew advised the boy to fish at the bottom, and Denion was hit after he put the hook down with the bait for a few minutes, knowing it was big.
Denio struggled for about 30 minutes as the giant halibut fought for its life. He took it near the boat and just let it dive down, but eventually he was able to surface the fish, under the guidance of the crew, and cheered by the other passengers.
“I stood there and looked at him. Then, the fish suddenly picked it off, bit it down and started slamming,” said Jim Walsh, the captain of Denion’s ship. “I looked at him and I said, ‘Are you at the bottom?’ He was gone, ‘Yes. “I said, “You don’t have sharks.” ””
Walsh said he was impressed by Denio’s calmness in the plot.
“He didn’t let go once. He never let anyone touch the pole. He hit him a ball, he hit him a ball. Then, the fish started to get tired.” “Even if he was big, they would get tired. Then he floated it up. That was when we looked and went, ‘Oh my God.’ We were all ecstatic.”
Denio formally weighed and took photos and videos before carving the fish, and he also provided additional information about his fishing gear that would be included in the World Record Application for International Games fish association. The family program submits an application for the primary record of Atlantic halibut, which includes all fish.
