Senator Mark Warner said Wednesday that his meeting at the headquarters of the U.S. intelligence agency was canceled after a online attack by far-right activist and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer.

Warner, the Democratic Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, will visit Virginia’s National Geospatial-Smart Agency, who described his “responsibility to provide oversight and support to our intelligence community.”

He said the government canceled the invitation after Loomer launched a “baseless attack” against him and agency director Trey Whitworth.

“I can’t boast about how unprecedented and dangerous it is,” Warner said in a fundraising email. “This administration is getting a march order from Laura Loomer, a wackjob with a history of long-standing eccentric fringe views, including 9/11 denials, anti-Muslim harassment movements and connections to white supremacists.”

Loomer has posted on social media in recent days complaining that intelligence agencies’ directors are hosting “a fanatical anti-Trump Democratic Senator.” She celebrated the cancellation, saying Warner was a threat to national security and believed he should be removed from the Senate committee.

“He has provided weapons to our intelligence agencies to promote the debunked Russian collusion scam,” she wrote.

She told New York Times Warner should be “dismissed from the office and treason.”

Warner told reporters that the decision to cancel previously unpublished meetings was made by the Secretary of Defense’s office.

This event illustrates the Lasting impact In Donald Trump’s administration. The 32-year-old has previously described himself as “proud Islamophobia” and served as the president’s national security and foreign policy adviser. In April, Trump fired six staff members after Loomer gave him a list of people she thought weren’t loyal enough to the president.

Last month, the government announced that it was planning Stop issuing visas For children Gaza Seek medical services after complaint from Whibuller.

Warner argued that Loomer was “basically a member of the cabinet” and that Trump and his administration “submitted to everything she wanted.”

“This naked political decision undermines dedicated nonpartisan employees [the] NGA and threaten the civilian supervision principle to protect our national security. “Warner said in a statement.

“Members of Congress often hold meetings and live engagements with state and territorial federal employees; the arbitrary conditions that prevent and set these meetings set dangerous precedents, questioning that supervision is now allowed only if the far right edge is pleased.”
